Wisewood knocked for 6!

Brunsmeer travelled across Sheffield to play Wisewood on a sunny, but cold morning. Spirits were high as the boys looked to continue their 9 game unbeaten run.
After a delayed kick off due to a frosty goalmouth, the game got underway. Brunsmeer started the brightest, passing the ball about and showing much promise. The Wisewood keeper and defence were tested constantly. Then Brunsmeer were fouled just outside the area. Ben Beever took the free kick hard and low and Owen Ryan was on hand to tap it home and make it 1-0. Brunsmeer were dictating the play and Wisewood werent seeing much of the ball. As a result of this the game started getting physical as Wisewood's frustration showed through. Then, following a period of pressure by Wisewood, James Hastings executed a fabulous goal line clearance to keep Brunsmeer in front. After this Wisewood warning, Brunsmeer piled on more pressure and won another free kick. Joseph Pillinger shot into the area and James Hastings, after brilliantly negotiating the bounce, hit the ball goalwards making it 2-0.
Half Time Wisewood 0 Brunsmeer 2
Shortly after the 2nd half got underway, Owen Ryan received the ball at the halfway line and sped his way through the Wisewood defence to chip his shot over the goalkeepers head and into the top right hand corner. 3-0. Wisewood responded to this by forcing the ball upfield and striking a hard, low shot into the bottom right corner of the Brunsmeer goal. 3-1. Brunsmeer regrouped and pushed forward. James Yeardley crossed a great shot towards the goal, Owen Ryan was running in with a Wisewood defender, but the shot was met by way of a slight deflection by the Wisewood defender and hit the back of the net, 4-1. Brunsmeer's fifth goal was a bit of a goal mouth scramble as a shot was parried away by the keeper, but he couldnt get his hands round the ball and it was taken from him by James Hastings, who shot and hit the post. The rebound was picked up by Joseph Pillinger who kicked it into the goal. 5-1. Shortly after, Owen Ryan went on another run at the Wisewood goal. He beat the defenders with his speed and with only the goalkeeper to negotiate, he coolly and calmly tapped the ball round the keeper to make it 6-1.
