A crisp saturday morning welcomed the visit of Junior Tykes to Dore Rec.
The game kicked in straight away when a super passing move between Max, George and Harry was tucked away by Thomas. Harry quickly added a second into the bottom corner and Brunsmeer were firmly on top. David looked good in goal with Max R his usual tough tackling self. The introduction of Oliver at half time added some raw speed up front and soon George added a third with a sweet shot, this was followed by a spanking drive from Harry into the top corner. George stabbed home from close range to finish off a fine display from the boys. SCORE 5 - 0
The second game started in the same fashion as the first. The boys winning their tackles and being first to the ball. Daniel struck the first from the edge of the box and this was added to by Jack from a tight angle. Harry Vernon was showing some fancy footwork up front with Luke showing some excellent defending. The star of the show today was Robbie. His defending was first class and when asked to push into midfield did so to great effect. He set Jack up for his third with a great through ball. William Tracey entered the game after illness and soon netted with a real poachers finish. Jack scored his 4th with a run from his own box, this rounded off another wonderful display from the boys.
SCROE 6 - 0
The boys, once again tried to play passing football and succeeded. This football added to a never say die attitude, is great to watch and is a credit to the boys.
FINAL SCORE 11 -0

In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
